Created at MIT Media Lab by Pranav Mistry a PHD candidate in the fluid interfaces group.
This device named as 'SixthSense' is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital information and lets us use natural hand gastures to interact with that information
The SixthSense prototype comprises a pocket projector, a mirror and a camera contained in the pendent like wearable device.
The projector helps to project social networking sites, time, maps and all the visual information. All these can be projected on any surface, may be walls and physical objects.
while the camera is used to capture the gastures of your hands and fingers with the computer version based techniques.
A person has to wear a coloured markers(visual tracking fiducials). The movements and arrangements of these fiducials are interpreted into gastures.
Suppose one wants to click photo, all you need is to make a camera gasture with your fingers wearing those fiducials.
If you are in a meeting and you don't have the projector, you can use this device.
This wearable pendant device is very Heavy to wear.
Approximately it will cost around $350
